I. ABSTRACT

This study aims to analyze the emotional impact of sexual harassment on Generation Z victims
in Tagaytay City. Numerous researchers have studied this phenomenon, but this study will
focus on the emotional impact of the victims and how sexual harassment has been continuously
experienced by Generation Z. This is a qualitative type of study, specifically the interpretative
phenomenological research design. According to Given (2008), The approach known as
interpretive phenomenology, or hermeneutical phenomenology, operates under the belief that
humans fundamentally engage in interpretation in all aspects of their being. This qualitative
approach aims to provide detailed examinations of personal lived experiences. The interviews
conducted by the researchers resulted in exploring the experiences and effects on the emotional
state of Generation Z after experiencing sexual harassment. This research had negative results.
Some of the participants experienced different kinds of emotions and trauma. However, despite
what happened, despite how hard it is to forget, the victims opted to distract themselves from
forgetting everything and starting a new chapter of their lives.
Sexual harassment victims in Generation Z find it difficult to forget their experiences. Sexual
harassment victims frequently exhibit emotional and psychological symptoms. To stop sexual
harassment, organized awareness-raising and education campaigns, such as information
sessions, public service announcements, or bystander intervention training, are recommended.
