ABSTRACT :
This study aimed to determine the healing of mind, body, and soul; a Holistic Nursing Challenge. Specifically, this sought to answer to others question: 1. What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of ages, genders, civil, status, schools graduated, batches. 2. What were the respondent's assessment on quality of nursing care and performance rendered by the nurses in terms of: Body Services, Mind Services, Soul Services? 3. In rendering of nursing care among those services, what is the highest rate they implemented to their patient? The researchers employed a Quantitative Research Method. The quantitative research attempts to study naturally occurring phenomena in all. In this study, proponents employed an intensive in - depth study on the
healing of mind, body, and soul; A Holistic Nursing Challenge. The researchers employed a random sampling to all the staff nurses on duty in selected hospitals. In order to answer the problem of this study, the researcher needed information from data. With this mind, the researchers
decided to use a researcher-made questionnaire. Based on the result and findings of the study, the researchers accepted the hypothesis and conclude that: 1. the registered nurses from Olivarez College got a satisfactory rating and percentage in approaching nursing challenge. The age, gender, batch, civil status do not affect as long as the nurses do their own responsibility in rendering their holistic care to their patient 2. The respondents were satisfied with the quality of nursing care rendered by the registered nurse graduated from the following schools, Olivarez College, San Juan de Dios Institute, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, University of Perpetual Help. 3. There was significant difference between the two (2) schools Olivarez College and San Juan De Dios Institute based on holistic approach as a nursing challenge. 4. There were significant similarities of both school from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and University of Perpetual Help in emphasizing nursing approach in assessing patient as a holistic nursing challenge. Based on the foregoing conclusions the following recommendations were drawn: 1. The age, gender, batch, civil status do not affect as long as the nurses do their own responsibility in rendering their holistic care to their patients and apply all the necessary holistic approach to their patients. 2. It is also important for the registered nurse to be considerate in assessing their patient holistically through the mind, body and spirit. 3. It is highly recommended for the student nurse to research further on a holistic approach of the registered nurses on the different schools, where they graduated. Based from the gathered data, the analization and interpretation of the following findings revealed: It was noted that the highest frequency of 10 with percentage of 80% was from respondents whose ages were 25-27. The least frequency of 2 with percentage of 10% was from respondents whose ages between 21-22. as to gender the highest frequency of 15 with percentage of 75% was from female the respondents with female while the least frequency of 5% with percentage was from male respondents. On the average the equal frequency of 4 school with percentage of 100% by the 20 respondents Olivarez College, San Juan de Dios, Pamantasan ng lungsod ng Maynila and University of Perpetual Help. Based on the frequency and percentage by year they graduated, the highest frequency of 12 with percentage of 60 was from batch 2005 while the least frequency of 1 with percentile of 5 was from batch 2002, 2001, and 2000. As to civil status the highest frequency of 14 with percentage of 70 was from single respondent while the least frequency of 6 with percentage of 30 was from married respondent. Among those services the highest was body services with the percentile of 4.7%which composed of 4.9%in OC the highest percentile, 4.8%in SJDFI, 4.6 in UPH and 4.5 in PLM which got least percentile in.As to mind services the total average mean of 4.6%composed of 4.9%in OC which was the highest percentile in mind services, 4.8 % SJDFI, 4.7%in PLM and 4% in UPH who got the least percentile in mind services and the least services was spiritual services with the percentile of 4.3% composed of 4.7% in SJDFI which was the highest, 4.5% in OC 4% in UPH and 3.9% in PLM which was the least in spiritual.As to the results of mind, body, and soul service. The registered nurse who are graduates of San Juan de Dios have a highest average mean of 4.7 which means that they give more importance and value in rendering spiritual approach to assess the patient. Olivarez College has 4.5, University of Perpetual Help College has 4.1 and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila has 3.9.this means that San Juan De Dios focused and prefered to spiritual approach. Therefore, Christian nurses fits into the holistic nursing easily through the spiritual component. It revealed that among those services the highest average mean rate in body approach and mind approach is Olivarez College with a mean of 4.9 in body service and 4.9 in mind service. While in soul approach, San Juan de Dios got 4.7 which was the highest. Based on the foregoing conclusions the following recommendations were drawn: 1. the age, gender, batch, civil status does not affect as long as the nurses done their own responsibility in rendering their holistic care to their patieni and apply all the necessary holistic approach to their patient. 2. It is also important for the registered nurse to be considerate in assessing their patient holistically through the mind, body and spirit. 3. It is highly recommended for the student nurse to research further on a holistic approach of the registered nurses on the different schools, where they graduated.
