500 ## - GENERAL NOTE
General note I. ABSTRACT

Collaboration is often the only way to overcome challenges. The Forensic Community has a
crucial role in addressing the crisis at the national and international levels when it comes to
infectious disease outbreaks such as COVID-19. Much has been written and published on
protocols for investigating deaths, infection control, risk mitigation, and management of the
dead. This study addresses the extent to which a novel coronavirus, namely COVID-19) affects
the Philippines and is mainly concerned with managing death and problems encountered by
public health services. The COVID-19 pandemic is a disaster for the world in unforeseen ways,
leaving no one prepared. Hostages feel the effect in several countries on all continents. The
challenges of COVID-19 and the opportunity to implement preventive and control measures
are exacerbated by the difficulties in performing forensic procedures, which continue to be a
problem in many countries worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) announced in
2019 that the SARS-CoV-2 virus causes Coronavirus Illness (COVID-19), an infectious
disease swiftly spreading globally, with over 3 million confirmed cases.
