Abstract: Osteomyelitis is characterized by inflammation of the bone tissue, typically caused by microorganisms such as bacteria. It can be challenging to treat and may lead to unnecessary antibiotic thera-pies. Prompt identification of osteomyelitis and implementation of effective treatments are necessary to eradicate this infection.
This article discusses the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and nursing management of osteomyelitis, focusing on native bone infection.
