TITLE: Perceived Level of Retirement Preparation Among Public School Teachers of Tagaytay City Elementary Schoo!

The study made use of the descriptive design to obtain needed data in the perceived level of retirement preparation among public school teachers in Tagaytay Central City Elementary School. Specifically, it described what the profile of the respondents is and what occurs with respect to variables such as the profile of the respondents and their perceived level of retirement preparation among public schoo! teachers.

Also, significant relationship of respondents’ profile and their perceived level of retirement preparation as measured by statements or indicators in the following areas; personal financial investment, physical well-being, psychological wellness and social wellness. Consequently, the findings of the study were the basis for faculty enhancement program. The theoretical framework was based on the theory of Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs.

This study utilized an adopted questionnaire from Master's thesis of Banaag (2015) about the personal financial investment, physical wellbeing, psychological wellness and social wellness. The main source of the data came from the responses of twenty-two respondents of Tagaytay Central Elementary School.

Non-probability sampling technique was utilized particularly purposive sampling wherein there was a criteria being set.

Findings from the study showed that in terms of age, 32 percent of the respondents belong to age bracket 41 and above years old; 9 or 41 percent are in the age bracket of 31-40 years old; and 6 or 27 .almost one half of the respondents are between ages 31-40 years old, 12 or 54 Percent of the respondents are BEED graduates, 5 or 23 percent of the respondents are BSED, 2 or 9 percent of the respondents are Other Course with TCP, while 3 or 14 percent of the respondents are Master's Degree and none attained Doctorate Degree. According to the 0 percent of the respondents have not reach 15 years above of service, while 11 or 50 percent have 10 to 15 years of service and 11 or 50 percent have 5-10 years of service; 1 or 5 percent of the teachers are eaming 35,000 above, 1 or 5 percent of the teachers are earning 31,000 to less than 35,000, 1 or 5 percent of the teachers are earning Php 25,000 to less than 30,000, while 6 or 27 percent of the teachers are earning Php 20,000 to less than 25,000 and 13 or 58 percent of the teachers are eaming 15,000 to less than 20,000. These data indicate that majority of the respondents are receiving between 15,00020,000 per month. It may mean that most of the teachers can hardly set aside portion of their income for savings in preparation for retirement, 13 or 59% of the respondents are Teacher 1, 3 or 14% are Teacher 2, 4 or 18% are Teacher 3, 2 or 9% are Master
Teacher 2, none of them are Master Teacher 3 and 1.
Relating to the perceived level of retirement preparation, the overall mean rating of the perceived level of retirement preparation in terms of financial investment 2.32 verbally interpreted as “High” and in terms of physical well-being revealed overall mean rating of 2.64 verbally interpreted as “High”. While the overall rating in terms of psychological weliness gained the weighted mean of 2.40 "High"; and the social wellness revealed overall rating of 2.27 verbally interpreted as “High”.

The study concludes that majority of the respondents were at the age of 3140 and then 27 percent of them were between 2130 of age. Almost all of the respondents were graduate of BEED and majority of them have 515 years of service as public elementary school. Almost all of the respondents were eaming 15,00020,000. And majority of the respondents were in rank as Teacher 1.

The respondents of public elementary school teachers have high perceived level of retirement preparation in terms of personal financial investment, physical well-being, psychological wellness, and _ social wellness. Additionally, the respondents’ demographic profile in terms of age, educational background, years of service, gross monthly income and teacher rank have no significant relationship in the perceived level of retirement preparation. These results may serve as guide for retirement preparation. It only means that the demographic profile of the respondents has nothing to do with the perceived level of retirement preparation.
This study hereby recommends to the elementary teachers; they must engage themselves with the different physical activities leading to healthy lifestyle. And be participative in every physical activity that the school may conduct. Faculty members must have self-awareness regarding civil welfare for their personal and social growth as they face retirement period. Elementary Teachers must engage themselves into different trainings and services for their career growth. To the School Administrator, they must ensure quality and effective faculty development program that would encourage pre-entry teachers to continue enhancing their expertise in teaching-leaming activities. To the Administrator, they must encourage their teachers to enroll in the Master's Degree or Doctorate Degree for their career growth.
