ABSTRACT
COVID-19 pandemic has brought limitations to the world and to our society and has affected the educational systems and no one knows when it will end. In the educational context, to sustain and provide quality education despite the health and safety protocols, new normal should be taken into consideration in the planning and implementation of alternative educational policy during the new normal settings. This pandemic has paved the way to the implementation of Modular instruction and online learning as an urgent response to ensure continuity of education. A descriptive correlational design was
utilized to describe the variables and know the relationship that occurs naturally between and among them. To select the sample size, a purposive sampling was used. For the statistical treatment of data, mean was utilized to determine the level of satisfaction of the student in modular learning and online learning. To test the significant relationship among the variables, Pearson correlation was used. Finally, to test the significant difference, Levenes-Test and T-test were utilized. The result of the study indicated that the overall student's satisfaction rating on both modular instruction and online learning was very satisfied. In terms of the significance in relationships, the result showed no significant relationship between the level of satisfaction on the modality of learning and the academic performance of the respondents, between the level of satisfaction on the modular learning and the academic performance of the respondents, between the level of satisfaction on the online modality of learning and the academic performance of the respondents and between the level of satisfaction on the modular learning and the academic performance of the respondents. Lastly, the study revealed that there was a significant difference on the academic performance when group according to modality of learning. The result suggested a seminar for the students regarding their motivation and encouragement in having modular or online learning as modality of learning. Also, the need of a parallel and similar study using different locales and bigger population to further validate the results of the study.
