ABSTRACT : Objectives The specific aims of this research were; to assess the utilization of computers as learning aids, the tasks performed most often, by nursing students, to identity nuisans student's preferences for hindrances to, and perceived benefits and risks of using computers in the clinical setting and to characterize subgroups of clinicians who use computers for specified purposes and / or who have specific preferences regarding computers. To assess the computer knowledge among nurses. To identify the attitude of nurses towards computer utilization. To measure the computer operating skills among nurses. To analyze the relationships between computer knowledge, attitude and skill among nurses. To find out the relationship of computer knowledge, attitude and skills among nurses with selected variables. Methodology.The study used survey questionnaire method. The survey limits one response per person, while also forcing respondents to respond to all questions before completing the survey. Responses are collected, filed and stored for final tallying of the responses of the students in the said questionnaire. Detailed statistical analysis is proved, and openinde questions can be coded for quantitative data analysis or printed out verbatim in a report. Control over survey environment. In order to impose some control over the survey conditions and for greater standardization of survey completion among the participants, potential participants were provided with instructions for completing the questionnaires, the critical definitions used in the questionnaires, and a reference questionnaire document to refer to prior to completing questionnaire. Anonymity and validity of data. While no names of individuals were collected. Ethics review and consent. Ethical review was sought and obtained from the Olivarez College of Nursing with the understanding that, as with all survey questionnaires, completing and submitting the questionnaire is in itself providing informed consent. To enhance the 'informed' part of the consent, potential participants were provided a cover letter detailing the study objectives, design, and contact information, if there were concerns about privacy and confidentiality. Statement of the Problem This study was intended to enhance the usage of computers in the clinical sctling, hospitals, home health agencies and private practices. Specifically, this study attempted to answer the following questions: 1. Is there a significant difference between the existing and the proposed system in terms of 1.1 accuracy, 1.2 reliability, 1.3 speed, 1.4 security, and 1.5 user-friendliness? Hypothesis The study aims to prove the following: Computerization could resolve certain problems and derive benefits including reduction in clerical work required of professionals, reduction in printed forms, centralized patient care data etc. Computerization will improve the efficiency of health care.
