Abstract
Social media are interactive computer. Mediated technologies that facilitates the
creation and sharing of infomation, idea, career and other forms of expressions via
virtual communities of networks
There are 20 most popular social media sites nowadays. Those are Facebook,
Twitter, Linkedin, Google +, Youtube, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr, and more. But, its
ysage and growing popularity especially among students have its positive and negative
sides.
According to Stonechipher(2017) the negative impacts of social media platforms
include issues like increased level of depression, and anxiety, poor sleep quality.
dissatisfaction of body image and cyber bullying.
The positive impact of social media is it can make the work easier and effective.
But, excessive use of social media may also affect the behavior of a person especialy
the students.
The researchers aimed to know the impact of accessing social media on the
dlassroom behavior of Grade 11 General Academic Strand students of Olivarez College
Tagaytay for S.Y 2018-2019
