ABSTRACT
The Relationship between Technological Devices Used in the Classroom and the
General Weighted Average of the Selected Grade 12 HUMSS Students of Olivarez College
Tagaytay
This study investigated the relationship between technological devices used in thệ
classroom and general weighted average of the selected Grade 12 HUMSS students of Olivare
College Tagaytay. The opposing views on whether technological device usage improves
students academic achievement or serves as a distraction to their studies, made the researchers
to decide in conducting a study to further understand the relationship between technological
device usage and general weighted average of the students. This study employed quantitative
research design and data were collected through a 10-item adapted survey questionnaire entitled
Technology in the Classroom of Peterson (2009). The sample for this study were 134
respondents selected from the total population of 203 students. Stratified random sampling
technique was used to select the respondents of this study. Data collected were analyzed using
frequency and percentage, weighted mean, and Pearson correlation coefficient to answet
research questions and hypothesis of this study. The findings of this study revealed thaț
technological devices used in the classroom has significant relationship with students' genera
weighted average. The results showed the importance of using technological devices in
|improving students' academic performance in school. Thus, school administration, teachers and
students are advised to continue using the benefits that technological devices can provide.
