ABSTRACT
General Objective:
To know the implication of alcohol intake in respondent's health and behavior. Eventually, they may be aware that excessive alcohol intake has bad effects in each of them.
This study aims to assess the effects of alcohol intake on health and behavior of men ages 18-45 years old in Barangay Buck Estate Alfonso, Cavite. This study has been conducted during the second semester of the school year 2005-2006.
Methodology
This study used the descriptive method of research, a type of comprehensive community survey using survey questionnaires. The sample population consists of 37 respondents which belongs to four age brackets; (5 respondents or 13% belongs to the age bracket 18-19 years old, 15 respondents or 40% belongs to the age bracket 20-30 years old, 10 respondents or 28% belongs to the age bracket 31-40 years old, 7 respondents or 19% belongs to the age bracket 41-45 years old.) The questionnaires are prepared by the researchers. The respondents selected the appropriate answers by choosing from the set of answer such as: Always, Often,Occasional, Seldom, Never, and Yes, No, and Not Sure. After gathering the data they ware tallied in different tables, and afterwards they are analyzed and interpreted to answer the problem raised. The percentage and frequency are used to describe the profile of the respondents.
Conclusions: The result of the survey concluded that dizziness is the major effect of alcohol intake on the respondent's health, while gaining self confidence is the most common effect of alcohol intake on the behavior of the respondents.And most of the respondents answer that the effect of alcohol intake on this behavior is not negative when it comes to their relationship with their family as well as in community.
Recommendation:Base on the findings, the researchers recommend to the Department of Health to provide a program related to the effects of alcohol intake in human health and behavior by providing a materials like manual, pamphlets and other relevant informations that will benefit the respondents. Also, to strengthen the Local Government of the community the drive on how to control and resolve problem, like crimes, done by drunkards. The teaching on the negative effectsof alcohol intake to establish the goal and treatment of the study. We encourage that the family of the respondents should cooperate to the program imposed by the health workers to provide moral value to their siblings. The future researchers conduct the same studies to strengthen the campaign against alcohol intake.
