Abstract
Depression can be genetic though life circumstances and other personal factors
such as- academic performance, peer pressure, relationship with family and self-esteem
can highly affect their level of depression. Nowadays, issue about depression had
increased because many problems are coming along their way at young age. Abuse.
Past physical, sexual, or emotional abuse can increase the vulnerability to clinical
depression later in life. Depression in someone who has the biological vulnerability to
develop depression may result from personal conflicts or disputes with family members
or friends. The study used Quantitative Descriptive Research Design to collect detailed
information to describe the existing topic. We used two sampling in this study. The first
is cluster sampling, which we used in selecting the strands. Cluster sampling refers to a
type of sampling method. With cluster sampling, the researcher divides the population
into separate groups, called clusters. Then, a simple random sample of clusters is
selected from the population. The researcher conducts his analysis on data from the
sampled clusters. The researcher also used random sampling in selecting the sections
as respondents. The researcher used weighted mean and percentage. The study
resulted to these major findings Majority of the students are 18 -19 years old, majority of
the respondents are Male, the respondents are equally from Humanities and Social
Sciences, Accountancy and Business Management and Science, Technology,
Engineering and Mathematics, the level of depression of senior High School Students is
Mild Level of Depression. The results recommended that the respondents should open up to their family or friends about how they feel towards thing and should avoid keeping
it to themselves.
