Abstract: Recognizing the gaps in education and resources in other location can shock nurses working in developed countries. This article discusses the origins of an international initiative born from one nurses' flight from upheaval. Every country has healthcare challenges. Nurses provide about 90% of healthcare worldwide; for many people, nurses are the only link to health care. For nurses who live in developed countries, it can be shocking to realize the gaps in education, knowledge, equipment, and resources in other places. this article discusses an initiative, Nurse2Nurse, to help nurses in Liberia, where resources are scare from years of civil wars.
