| 520 | _aAbstract: The study aimed to determine the most prevalent and the least prevalent alternative health care modalities used by the residents in Brgy. Dao-Batas. Recommendations: To the rural health midwife/ local health officers As part of their duties and responsibilities, they must disseminate sufficient information regarding alternative health care modalities especially 10 herbal medicines advocated by the Department of Health, comprehensively through conducting seminar regarding the use of herbal medicines as well as their alternative health care modalities. As part of their indebtedness to their constituents it is a must that they continuously teach family planning and promote to the community the importance of this program in order to limit the fast growing population which is one cause of poverty. To the medical doctors As part of their obligation to the public, they should continue to teach the limitations of the use of alternative health care modalities to the communities for them to know when to seek for proper medical attention from medical practitioners. To the members of the community - As part of their responsibilities to the community, they should utilize the community resources such as the health center and "botika ng barangay” and be knowledgeable of the advantages of modern medicines, To the household heads (especially mothers) As part of their promise to take care of their family, they should be responsible enough to their members in rendering proper and appropriate health care in accordance to their needs. To the student nurse As part of their duty to the clients they must help in counseling families regarding some of their false beliefs in relation to health care, the advantages and disadvantages of alternative health care modalities and their limitations. To the national and local government - As part of their responsibilities, they must provide the easy access and affordability of community health facilities. | ||
