520 _aABSTRACT This study sought to determine the patient's perception of the nurses performance of the assessment phase of nursing process in M.V Santiago Hospital. The study wanted to answer the following questions; What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, gender, civil status and educational attainment. What is the level of performance of the staff nurses in relation to the delivery of quality nursing care in terms of assessment? Is there a significant relationship between the demographic profile and the perception of the patient towards the level of the nurses performance of the assessment phase of the nursing process? To be able to answer those questions, the researchers used questionnaire regarding the client's demographic data, gender, cducational attainment and civil status. After the completion of the data, the researchers constructed the frequency and distribution, weighted mean and chi square of the gathered data to come up to the accurate and significant findings of the study. Alter collecting and tabulating the data gathered, the researchers find out that the majority of the patients are married female, having the age ranging from 31-45 years old and high school graduates and they are seeking more medical attention because they are prone in having diseases. That the staff nurses of Manuel V. Santiago hospital in relation to the delivery of quality care in terms of assessment is fully Performed because of the verbal interpretation and the weighted mean. That there is a significant relationship between the demographic profile of the respondents and their perception towards the level of nurse's performance of the assessment phase. The researchers come up with the following recommendations that will help the existing problems, Patients must seek medical attentions on hospitals that can provide them good and quality health care. Staff nurses of Manuel V. Santiago Hospital in relation to the delivery of quality nursing care in terms of assessment must continue their good work. The administrator must administer frequent evaluation of their nurse's performance and consider the given remarks of the patient. This is necessary to provide patients with quality medical services.
