520			_aObjectives: This study aimed to: 1. Identify the demographic data of the women in Brgy. Sungay West Bagong Silang Tagaytay City. Identify the perception of women in Brgy. Sungay West about tetanus toxoid. Identify the factor/s affecting their perception about tetanus toxoid. Methodology: This is a descriptive study. A descriptive study is used to observe, describe and documents aspects of a situation as it naturally occurs and sometimes to serve as a stang for hypothesis generation or theory development. Often the purpose of survey is simply to determine how people feel about a particular issue. Other surveys may attempt to find out the effect of some event on peoples behavior. In addition, surveys provide an opportunity to examine correlations among the participants responses and to look for possible patterns of cause and effect. Findings: 1. With regards to perception about tetanus toxoid, the women in Brgy. Sungay West strongly agree on the following: a.tetanus toxoid is a vaccine b. tetanus toxoid is a medication for prevention of tetanus c. tetanus toxoid is a way of protecting pregnant women d. tetanus toxoid is important for both maternal and child care 2. Most of the respondents have no knowledge regarding tetanus toxoid as a of its impotence. 3. The respondents do not believe that tetanus toxoid can cause abortion. 4. Among the factors affecting their perception, they consider and believe that education, gender and family influence affects their perception and socio-economic status has nothing to do about their perception. Conclusion: Aller carefully presenting and interpreting the results, it was concluded that the null hypothesis is accepted. It could therefore be concluded that women in Brgy. Dumboy West have generalized positivo perception regarding tetanus toxoid. Though some respondents who lack knowledge still exist and those women should be informed. Most of them are mothers and they have siblings. So it means those women do not take protective measures in their pregnancy regarding our study in their pregnancy regarding our study in tetanus toxoid and they must be informed about the importance of it for the sake of the mother as well as the baby Recommendations: The study was conducted to know the perception of women in Brgy. Sungay West about tetanus toxoid. It is recommended that follow up and similar study be undertaken in other barangays to minimize the occurrence of misconceptions and to maximize the beneficial effects of tetanus toxoid as a vaccine and as a relevant part of maternal and child care. Furthermore, information dissemination with regards to information about tetanus toxoid by ways of lectures, pamphlets and home visits are also undertaken.
