505 _aABSTRACT The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the operation of education worldwide and turned normal education into new normal education. At the beginning of their studies, it became stressful for them to handle such significant factors that they encounter in learning. When a student enters a new normal education, he/she is expected to face unnecessary challenges that may lead to an impact on their mental health and no conception of how to cope with it. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the mental health status of college students including the level of their pandemic stress, coping mechanisms, and self-care ability. A descriptive correlational design was utilized to describe the variables and know the relationship that occurs naturally between and among them. To select the sample size a convenience sampling was used. For the statistical treatment of data, Mean was utilized to determine the level pandemic stress and self-care ability as well as to determine coping with pandemic stress in aspects of cognitive coping, behavioral coping, and affective coping of Olivarez College students. To test the significant relationship among the variables Pearson correlation was used. The verbal interpretation of the study indicates that the level of pandemic stress and selfcare ability is high level along with the coping mechanisms in the aspects of cognitive coping, behavioral coping, and affective coping. In terms of the significance in relationships the result shows that there was significant relationship between the level of pandemic stress and coping mechanisms, and between the level of pandemic stress and self-care ability. Based on the data gathered, there are programs that can be proposed to address the mental health status of the respondents during this pandemic such as the Social hunt, Talk & Share and My time is precious. Also, the need of research to further determine the relationship between demographic profiles of respondents among variables is highly recommended.
